Security & trust
Last updated 14 July 2026
Nudget handles sensitive financial information, so we build it to be private by default and protect your data with industry‑standard safeguards. This page summarises how.
No bank login required
Unlike most budgeting apps, Nudget never asks for your online‑banking credentials and does not connect to your bank. You add transactions yourself or import a bank CSV you choose to upload. That means there's no bank password to leak and no third‑party aggregator holding the keys to your accounts — a fundamentally smaller attack surface.
Encryption in transit & at rest
- All traffic between your device and Nudget is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are stored using strong one‑way hashing — never in plain text.
- Sensitive secrets (such as two‑factor keys) are encrypted at rest.
Account security
- Two‑factor authentication (2FA) is available for an extra layer of protection.
- You can review and revoke every device and app signed into your account from Settings.
- Sign‑in attempts, sign‑outs and sensitive actions are recorded in an audit log to help detect abuse.
- Sign in with a password or with Google — your choice.
Privacy controls
- Mark accounts as private so they're visible only to you, even inside a shared household.
- Household sharing uses roles so members only see what they should.
- We never sell your data and don't use cross‑site advertising trackers.
Payments
Premium billing is handled by Stripe, a PCI‑DSS Level 1 certified provider. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never stored on Nudget's servers.
Your data, your control
- Export your transactions and data at any time (CSV, plus XLSX/PDF on Premium).
- Delete your account and personal data yourself from Settings — no support ticket required.
Sub‑processors
We rely on a small set of trusted providers (payments, email, push notifications, currency data and hosting) that process data only on our instructions. See our Privacy Policy for the full list.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and improve our safeguards.
